Thomas Mathews Horne received his Bachelor of Arts in English and his Master of Arts in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Central Oklahoma. A proud graduate of Crooked Oak High School, Thomas grew up in Southeast Oklahoma City; although not native to Oklahoma, he considers Oklahoma City to be his home. Teaching has always been Thomas’s calling. He believes that writing is empowering and transforms lives. In his courses he fosters students’ curiosity. Thomas is also an active participant in many community organizations and previously served as the volunteer director of Sisu Youth, a nonprofit organization that provides temporary emergency housing, resources, and guidance for Oklahoma City’s homeless youth. Thomas is excited to bring his passion and energy to the table at Oklahoma City Community College. He is honored to have the privilege to be part of a learning community unlike any other he has experienced.
