This course is a survey of English literature from the Anglo-Saxon era up to approximately 1798. Students will study representative works that shaped the literary canon and traditions in English literature, placing them in their literary, historical, philosophical, and cultural contexts.

This course satisfies three credits of the General Humanities requirement for all Associate in Arts, Science, and Diversified Studies degrees.
