ProctorU Common Issues and Troubleshooting Tips
ISSUE: You are being asked to enter a password after selecting the “Start Attempt” button.
This issue is common when the ProctorU extension has not been installed in your browser. Please be sure the ProctorU extension is installed in your browser and enabled. The ProctorU extension is available in Chrome and Firefox:

ISSUE: The ProctorU screen is stuck on “Loading…” and will not allow you to continue.
This issue is common when you have installed the ProctorU extension but have not logged into it before starting your attempt. The steps for logging into the ProctorU extension are demonstrated here:
ISSUE: Error 1108
This error code usually means that OCCC is not selected as one of the schools you attend in your Profile. You can select OCCC as a school in your profile by logging into the ProctorU site and selecting your name in the upper right, then account settings:
Here, select “Add Enrollment” if OCCC isn’t listed, select OCCC from the menu, then Update Account.
ISSUE: You are unable to advance past the ProctorU screen sharing step.
If you encounter issues sharing your screen, first be sure that you have disconnected any second monitor and cables from your computer.
If you are using a Mac, you may need to allow screen sharing. More info can be found here:
Issues with your webcam can cause the ProctorU exam launching process to become stuck on this step. Be sure that your webcam is enabled and connected correctly, and that it is not in use by other programs such as Zoom. Restarting your computer may also resolve this issue.
