ProctorU Instructions for Instructors
Getting Started and Setting Up an Exam Using ProctorU
ProctorU is an online exam proctoring service that allows students to take test in a in a variety of locations outside of the classroom. ProctorU gives instructors the ability to monitor the exams you give or have live proctors monitor those exams for you. The students are able to log in and use their camera and webcam in a private, well-lit room. The student’s identity will be verified by a live proctor by having the student present an ID for verification. The exam screen and the student are recorded throughout the duration of the exam. The exams are also recorded so the instructor can review the exam activity of the student.
OCCC is using ProctorU Record+ and Live+ services for proctoring exams in Moodle.
To use ProctorU in your courses, you must first create an account and install the Chrome or Firefox browser plugin.
Record+ records a student's screen and webcam during their test attempt. These recordings are later reviewed by a ProctorU proctor and potential academic integrity issues are flagged for instructors to review.
Live+ utilizes a live proctor which monitors students during their attempt. Proctors will intervene during an exam to stop potential academic integrity issues. Live+ is for higher stakes exams, such as Finals. For assistance using the Live+ service please contact the Center for Learning and Teaching.
The CLT has resources for your students which can be imported into your Moodle course, or viewed online here:
If you have questions or would like the student resources imported into your Moodle section, please contact Center for Learning and Teaching at email@example.com or 405-682-7838.
