OCCC's Got Talent! 2017

GuitaristSo you think you've got talent? Are you just waiting for an opportunity to show the world how awesome you truly are? Have you got the nerve to compete against OCCC's best for cash prizes?

The Future Alumni Network is proud to present the 4th Annual "OCCC's Got Talent!," a showcase for the entire Oklahoma City Community College family. Students, faculty, staff, and graduates of the College are all eligible and invited to apply to show off their hidden or not-so-hidden talents in a contest to be held on Thursday, April 20th, 2017, in front of a live audience in the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater on the OCCC campus. Singers, musicians, actors, dancers, jugglers, magicians, comics, unusual souls, and talented performers of all types are welcome to submit video or audio clips for an online audition. A diverse group of finalists will be selected to perform onstage at the "OCCC's Got Talent" event.

DancersNot only will there be great prizes, there are three ways to win! One Grand Prize Winner will be determined by the voting of a panel of celebrity judges at the end of the competition. A second Grand Prize will be claimed by the finalist who raises the most donations for the OCCC Foundation Scholarship Fund. If your talent doesn't wow the judges, your fundraising abilities and the generous support of your family and friends certainly can! (That's right – "OCCC's Got Talent!" is a fundraiser for OCCC student scholarships – which means there will, ultimately, be LOTS of deserving winners!) Additionally, a People's Choice Award will also go to the contestant who wins the crowd.

If you are a student, faculty member, staff member, or graduate of Oklahoma City Community College interested in being a contestant in the "OCCC's Got Talent!" event, simply submit a clip that showcases your particular talent to be considered by the selection committee. A non-refundable $5 application fee is required. (It's a fundraiser, remember!)

Yo Yo ArtistFinalists will be contacted in mid-March and provided details about the competition for both Grand Prizes.

The rules:

ANY type of talent/performance is eligible to apply, solo-act or multiple member, HOWEVER, due to event logistics, it is strongly suggested that if any equipment or props are required that they be very minimal. (Seriously, no 5-piece rock bands with big drum kits and Marshall stacks!) A limited number of microphones and a piano will be present and available for use.

No application will be accepted without the accompanying $5 application fee. If you do not wish to use a credit/debit card for the entry fee, you may submit a paper application form and $5 cash to the OCCC Foundation Office.

No application will be accepted after the posted deadline has passed.

Applicants must consent to allow their images, sounds, likenesses, or intellectual property to be used in promotional materials for "OCCC's Got Talent" without compensation.

Finalists' performances must comply with accepted standards of public decency. (Keep it family friendly!)

Finalists MUST be open and available for any contest-related rehearsal, instruction, performance, ceremony, or promotional requirements on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
