Fitness Class

Looking to spice up your workout? Take a group fitness class! Figure out what class is best for your workout personality.  OCCC Recreation & Fitness offers an extensive aerobics program that provides a variety of fun and effective classes, such as: high energy Zumba classes or stress relieving Yoga and Pilates. We have a class that will suit any taste or fitness level.  Our friendly, skilled instructors will encourage you to reach your fitness goals and offer challenging classes to get you there.  Whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned exerciser, there is a class for everyone. Come try them out!

Group fitness classes are provided as a free benefit to your membership.  Memberships include the 5-day pass, punch card, 6 month and 1 year memberships.  All students and faculty have access at no charge with valid ID.

Abs Express

This class is designed to strengthen all of your abdominal muscles as well as improve your lower back strength. This 20 minute class is designed for people of all fitness levels. (Class limited to 25)

Total Body Workout

Complete body workout that will improve your overall strength, agility, balance, and conditioning. It is designed to increase lean muscle while utilizing equipment such as stability ball, hand weights, and body bars. (Class limited to 20)

Cardio Mix

This fun, energetic class will give you a complete body workout that will improve your overall strength and cardio fitness. Class will use a variety of equipment and formats, including weights, stability balls, and steps. (Class limited to 30)

Sets & Reps Combo

This class is guaranteed to keep you motivated and moving! Each class offers a combination of land aerobics, sets and reps with weights, interval training and finishes with a section of Ab toning.  (Class limited to 20)

Yoga (for beginners and relaxation)

This class is slow-paced and gentle and provides a good introduction to the basic yoga poses. Time is spent in each posture with attention placed on alignment, breath and purpose of pose.  Slow down and learn to relax while invigorating your body, gaining elasticity, strength, flexibility, firmness, and confidence as you build self-reliance and inner peace. (Class limited to 25; M/F Class limited to 10)

Flow Yoga (if you want a good workout while you relax)

This style of yoga builds heat, flexibility, and strength while maintaining focus on good alignment. Flow yoga strives to maintain awareness and focus on the breath while moving through a series of postures continuously.  The sequence of postures may be different from class to class, but always follow a progression through breathing exercises, warm up, variations of Sun Salutations, a dynamic standing series, various hip openers and stretches, and a final relaxation.  (Class limited to 25; M/F Class limited to 10)


Learn how to build long, lean muscles and develop core strength.  These exercises especially tone and shape the abdominals, lower back, and gluteals.


Spinning is a non-impact cardiovascular workout that takes place on a special STAR-TRAC Schwinn stationary bike. It is a group exercise program in which participants work at their individual fitness levels within the parameters of specifically designed class formats. The Spinning program concept incorporates the mind/body
connection and visualization, leaving ‘riders’ with a great sense of accomplishment. It does not require a lot of coordination and is appropriate for men and women of all ages and abilities. (Class limited to 9)


"Ditch the workout, join the Party!" This fun and exciting cardio dance class fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away!
(Class limited to 30)


Shallow Water Exercise
Shallow water exercise is low impact and combines a variety of water workouts that may include: water walking and jogging as well as a variety of exercises with and without water exercise equipment.

Deep Water Exercise
Slow, medium or fast paced exercise in water depth when feet do not touch the bottom of the pool. Floatation belts and hand held water buoys are used.
