ATTENTION! Close Alert Box Oklahoma City Community College, including the Family and Community Education Center and the Capitol Hill Center, will open on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. All classes and activities will resume as normal.

Employees who cannot reasonably return to work tomorrow should contact their supervisors, if possible.  OCCC has generous leave policies that may be used to take additional days off work, if necessary.

Due to far reaching effects of the recent tornado that damaged Newcastle, Moore and the south Oklahoma City metro, Oklahoma City Community College has extended the deadline by which faculty must turn in final grades. OCCC faculty were asked to have grades turned in by noon today, but some may have been unable to meet this deadline. This could result in delay to grades being posted. Students that have questions about their grades should contact the Office of the Registrar at 405-682-7512.

Students who have missed an intersession class are urged to contact their professors about any absences due to the damage resulting from the recent tornado and the closing of the campus.

Additionally, the college will be flexible with students who are enrolled for the summer intersession that started on May 20, 2013. Students who are now unable to attend intersession should contact the Office of the Registrar at 405-682-7512.

Planning and Research

Planning and Research has institution-wide responsibility for collecting, analyzing and disseminating knowledge which helps academic managers and college faculty make data-driven decisions which continually move the institution forward towards achieving its mission.  Planning and Research's responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates the development of the college's five-year strategic plan The Way Forward and Why It Matters and updates of the college's Annual Plan. The Annual Plan lists five goals (referred to as Ends) which managers, faculty, and staff of the college are dedicated to achieving. These Ends are Access, Student Preparation, Student Success, Graduate Success and Community Development.
  • Collects and analyzes the data needed to update the Core Indicators. The Core Indicators are a set of detailed statistically driven metrics showing whether the college has succeeded in achieving the Ends listed in the Annual Plan. On a revolving schedule, each Core Indicator is updated one time per year and the results are posted in the appropriate Monitoring Report.
  • Coordinates official documentation required to maintain Oklahoma City Community College's accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission and North Central Association of Colleges and Schools membership.
  • Responds to ad hoc information requests from both within the college and outside constitutiences. Performs detailed research and study of the college's diverse student body and program offerings as requested.
  • Conducts surveys of graduates six months and five years after graduation.  If students chose to provide employer information, they are contacted and their feedback is solicited.
