Farewell Angelina

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) has announced its 2019-2020 performance lineup. The season is a celebration of the arts and includes a wide array of entertainment including political satire, Broadway shows, Grammy winners, CMT stars, America’s Got Talent finalists and more. Among the performances is the wildly popular Farewell Angelina, a country group of four women who take their name from the haunting Bob Dylan song. The performance, which is scheduled for January 21, 2020, at 7:30 p.m., is expected to sell out.

A season subscription includes an option to reserve seats to all shows. The season kicks off with The Capitol Steps, a political satire, on Saturday, August 24, at 8 p.m. Other performances in the season include The 3 Redneck Tenors, the Tony Award winning Broadway musical “Bandstand,” and Black Violin. A full list of performances can be found at www.occc.edu/pas.

The OCCC VPAC opened its doors for its inaugural performance in 2014. Since then, the subscriber base has continued to grow. This year, the focus is aimed at reaching out to new community members who have yet to experience a performance at the VPAC.

“The OCCC lineup of entertainment is among the top must-see performances in Oklahoma City this season,” says Leila Lenore, director of cultural programs at OCCC. “Our upcoming season exemplifies our commitment to programming that offers not only top-notch entertainment, but also improves the quality of life for our community and those we serve.”

This season, the college is offering two subscriber packages to choose from, as well as a Pick 3 or Pick 5 option. The Essential Package includes all eight shows in the Performing Arts Series with prices starting at $250. The Premium Package includes both the Performing Arts Series and the Cultural Arts Series with prices starting at $335.

The Pick 3 and Pick 5 packages are great options for those not ready to commit to an entire season. Subscription sales will continue through July and single tickets go on sale August 1. The OCCC Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on season subscriptions or upcoming performances, please call the Box Office at (405) 682-7579 or visit www.occc.edu/pas.
