The Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) recently recognized three Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) employees for exceptional service at its annual conference on the OCCC campus. The inaugural awards were presented at the association’s 51st gathering with more than 260 college administrators, faculty and staff in attendance.
“One of my greatest honors as president of Oklahoma City Community College is working with outstanding individuals and having the opportunity to recognize them for their talents, achievements and contributions,†said Jerry Steward, OCCC president.
Kevin Eddings, a professor of English, was presented with the Outstanding Faculty Award. He joined OCCC as an adjunct professor in 2005, then as a full-time professor in 2016. Eddings worked at Oklahoma City Public Schools for 25 years.
Stephanie Miller, director of Academic Advising and New Student Orientation, was named Outstanding Professional Employee. Miller, a native of Washington state, joined OCCC in 2017. Prior to OCCC, she worked at The University of Oklahoma and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Lisa Robertson, administrative assistant to the Office of the Executive Vice President, received the Outstanding Support Staff Award. Robertson joined OCCC in 2015 and has served the college in a variety of capacities.
OACC is comprised of 13 member institutions in 31 locations throughout Oklahoma.
