Amethyst Women's Circle meets for 2018 kick-off event

Members and guests of the Amethyst Women’s Circle met on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at the home of Sherry Howell. The all-female philanthropic group shares a passion and vision for supporting students at Oklahoma City Community College. The women met over wine and delicious hors d’ouevres to plan for the group’s inaugural scholarship, to be awarded in the fall of 2018. OCCC alumna Krystle Brewer of the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition was the meeting’s guest speaker.

Formed in 2016, the Amethyst Women’s Circle is an empowered group of energetic and enthusiastic women whose mission is to raise significant funds each year to support first-generation OCCC students who otherwise could not afford to attend college. The Amethyst Women’s Circle holds regular social gatherings and seeks to expand to include more dynamic who women desire to make a difference in the community.

New members interested in joining the Amethyst Women’s Circle make an annual tax-deductible donation of $1,000 to the OCCC Foundation, with flexible payment options available. A custom amethyst necklace from Huntington Fine Jewelers awaits new members as well.
