OCCC recognizes Representative Morrissette for his service
Representative Morrissette receives the Regents Excellence Award
The Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) Board of Regents recognized Oklahoma State Representative Richard Morrissette for his dedication to the college by awarding him the Regents Excellence Award at the meeting Monday, Oct. 17, 2016.
"Representative Morrissette has dedicated his work to advocating for education in Oklahoma. Particularly, he has given ongoing support for OCCC and its community," said OCCC President Jerry Steward. "The board and I feel his efforts should be celebrated and recognized as he approaches the end of an exceptional career in the Oklahoma House of Representatives."
Morrissette was born in Rochester, New Hampshire. With a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire, he continued his education at the University of Tulsa College of Law obtaining his juris doctorate in 1984. He began his career as an Oklahoma State Senate staff member before serving as a legal aid in the Western Oklahoma Public Defender Office from 1986 to 1992. He is heavily involved in the YMCA of Oklahoma City, Lions Club, South Oklahoma City Rotary and the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.

Due to term limits, Representative Richard Morrissette is serving his final term in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
