The Future Alumni Network at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) is proud to present the third annual “OCCC’s Got Talent!,” a performance showcase for the entire OCCC community and a fundraiser for OCCC student scholarships.
Students, faculty, staff and alumni of OCCC will show off their hidden or not-so-hidden talents in a contest to be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. in front of a live audience in the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) Theater on the OCCC campus.
The emcee for this year’s competition will be popular comedian Spencer Hicks, founder of OKC Comedy and a contributing writer for The Lost Ogle. Hicks recently released his first comedy album “Love It or Give It Back” and performs regularly throughout the region.
This year’s celebrity judge panel will consist of: John Humphrey, drummer for internationally renowned rock band Seether and a member of the OCCC Alumni Hall of Fame; Alex Cameron, award-winning and longtime anchor and reporter for KWTV News 9; Amanda Cunningham, award-winning singer-songwriter-recording artist who performs regularly throughout the U.S.; and Michelle Swink, the owner and operator of the MAGNA Talent Agency in Oklahoma City.
Twenty-one contestants will showcase a variety of talents from country, pop, hip-hop, classical and rock music to choreographed hip-hop and modern dance. One grand prize winner will be determined by the panel of judges at the end of the competition. A second grand prize will be claimed by the finalist who raises the most donations for the OCCC Foundation scholarship fund. This can be accomplished by pledging your support for your favorite contestant at /talent/finalists.html. An additional cash prize will be awarded to the contestant who garners the most support from the live audience during the contest.
