OCCC hosts esteemed political science scholar James Morone to discuss 2016 election
"2016 Election in Context: The Familiar, Unusual and Bizarre"
Dr. James Morone, a distinguished political scientist and professor at Brown University will speak at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) Nov. 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the college's Sarkeys Foundation Atrium. The title of his talk is "2016 Election in Context: The Familiar, Unusual and Bizarre."
Dr. Morone, an award-winning author well-known for his published works "Hellfire Nation" and "The Devils We Know," is a nationally renowned political expert. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College before earning his masters and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is now the John Hazen White Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Brown University and five-time winner of the Hazeltine Citation for outstanding teacher of the year.

Dr. Morone served as president of the politics and history section of the American Political Science Association and the New England Political Science Association. He has been on the board of editors for eight scholarly journals, has written over 150 articles and essays, and comments on politics in The New York Times, the London Review of Books, and the American Prospect. He is currently the chair of the Brown University faculty and serves as director of the Brown Public Policy Center.
