Oklahoma City Community College's (OCCC) Professional Development Institute (PDI), a center of excellence for continuing education and workforce development, will offer Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) training for new federal investigators starting Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016.

The four-week, 32-hour training meets federal EEO MD-110 requirements and will include EEO law basics and investigative techniques. Instructor Regina Clear, a skilled and certified EEO commission investigator since 2003, says, "This is a great opportunity to be independently employed and have flexibility within your schedule. It's also a good skill for HR employees to have for internal investigations."

The training will also include an overview of the EEO process (29 C.F.R. Part 1614), case management process, techniques for planning and conducting interviews, investigative reports and summaries, a report of investigation and the roles and responsibilities of an EEO investigator. Students will receive in-class materials and study relevant statues and cases.

"Investigator Clear is among few in the state of Oklahoma certified and federally qualified to train others to become EEO investigators. There is no need to go out of state for this training. It is available to you right here in OKC," says PDI Director John Claybon.

The course costs $875 and will be held 6 to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday, ending Thursday, Oct. 27, at the PDI building, located at 7124 S. I-35 Service Road. For more information, please contact Kirstin Krug at (405) 682-7856 or kirstin.m.krug@occc.edu, or visit www.occc.edu/pdi.
