The Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) Foundation is set to host the inaugural "Crescendo," a fundraising event to benefit the college's annual Arts Festival Oklahoma (AFO), on Sunday, August 31 at 6 p.m.

Admission to "Crescendo" will also include entertainment by Born in November and special reserved seating for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra's annual outdoor performance and AFO fireworks display.

"Crescendo" will feature food from a variety of local restaurants in the metro: Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse, Rococo, Deep Fork Grill, Two Olives Café, Tommy's Italian American Grill and the Platt College Culinary program. Guests will also be treated to a selection of wine and beers.

The event is named after the Collin Rosebrook sculpture "Crescendo" that sits in the Women of the South plaza outside the new Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater. The name of the event not only is a nod to the sculpture, but to the definition of the word itself—a build up in loudness and intensity.

"Arts Festival Oklahoma has grown so much and we hope that this event can help continue that growth," said Lealon Taylor, executive director of institutional advancement.

Tickets for "Crescendo" are $45.00. They can be purchased in advance by visiting tickets.occc.edu or by calling 405-682-7591. Guests who purchase tickets in advance will have festival parking included in the ticket price. Tickets will also be available at the door.

"Crescendo" is presented by Republic Bank and Trust. Additional sponsors include: Michael Brooks-Jimenez, P.C., Echols and Associates, Dr. Paul Sechrist, Joullian Vineyards, Earlywine Cellar and Spirits and Beer Distributors of Oklahoma
