Due to inclement weather, OCCC is closed today, Saturday, February 28. All classes are canceled. This includes the main campus, FACE Center, Capitol Hill Center and Professional Development Institute (PDI). Events in the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater, the Bruce Owen Theater and the Aquatic Center will still go on as scheduled, but all other activities have been canceled.

Please practice caution when coming to and leaving campus as secondary roads, driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks may be icy and slippery. 

Campus closings and delayed openings will be announced through local radio and television stations and posted on the college’ s website, Facebook and Twitter pages. They will also be announced through the college’s Campus Alert Notification (CAN) System.

Evening CNG Certification Class Available at OCCC, Feb. 24 – March 1

Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) will offer the Oklahoma State Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Certification course designed for automotive technicians experienced in electrical and engine performance systems Feb. 24 to March 1.

The class will be held Monday through Friday from 6 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $600. The class will be located in the new OCCC Professional Development Institute (PDI) facility, room PDI132, located at 7124 S. I-35 Service Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73149.

The six-night hands-on training will cover NFPA 52 regulations, including fuel safety, system operation and diagnosis, and fuel line bending. Students will have the opportunity to take the State Certification Test administered by the Oklahoma Department of Central Services once they have completed the class.

Students will receive training in an instructor-based course with hands-on application in the areas of safety, fuel characteristics, system descriptions and operation, fuel line bending, system diagnosis, system inspection and regulations.

Students must register directly with the DCAM: Alternative Fuels Program to be considered for State Certification.
