OCCC basketball

Volleyball, Nitroball, Basketball Open Run and Dodgeball are all on tap for intramural sports this fall at OCCC.

Volleyball – Starts Nov. 6 in the OCCC gym and will be played on Wednesdays between 4 and 7 p.m. A meeting for interested players has been set for Nov. 4 at 12 p.m. in the gym.

Nitroball – Also called "inverted volleyball" will start Nov. 11 in the OCCC gym and will be played Monday afternoons between 2 and 5 p.m. Interested players are encouraged to attend the Nov. 8 meeting at 12 p.m. in the gym. You can also learn more about Nitroball on Friday, Nov. 1 between 1 and 2 p.m. in the OCCC gym.

Basketball Open Run – Played every Wednesday night from now until Nov. 20, Basketball Open Run is different than other intramural events because there is no registration or set team; therefore, there is no commitment to show up every single week. This is an opportunity to come out and meet new people and get some exercise in the process. There is no set skill level, and new players to the sport are welcome. Each game will be eight minutes long; the team that wins will continue to stay on the court, but for no more than three games in a row. Basketball Open Run is for OCCC students only.

Dodgeball – Have you picked your team? The Dodgeball tournament is set for Dec. 4 and 6 in the OCCC gym. The players' meeting is set for Dec. 2 at 12 p.m. in the gym. The Recreation and Fitness staff is also holding Dodgeball Open Run intramurals to take place every Friday beginning Oct. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. Dodgeball Open Run is also only for OCCC students.

All intramural sports are open ONLY to OCCC students, staff and faculty. You must bring a valid OCCC ID to all intramural events to participate. All intramural sign-ups are available online at www.imleagues.com/occc.
