Nursing

Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) offers a 71-72 credit hour nursing program. Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Students successfully completing the program will earn an Associate in Applied Science degree. OCCC offers three nursing track options:

  • Traditional Pathway
  • Career Ladder Pathway for LPN’s and Paramedics
  • Baccalaureate to ADN Accelerated Nurse Pathway for individuals who have a Bachelor’s degree

The OCCC Nursing Program has continued full approval by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN). The most recent review by OBN was November 2018. The program has continuing accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Inc. (3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta GA 30326; phone (404) 975 5000; web site www.acennursing.org. The most recent review by ACEN was February 2014. The next ACEN re-accreditation visit will occur in spring 2022.

All nursing applications are now submitted and accepted online via the NursingCAS system only.

If you are considering applying to one of the Nursing Pathways in the next year, you are encouraged to go to NursingCAS, set-up your account using your college email and begin collecting the information needed for your application.

Once the individual application becomes available you will be able to add pathway specific information and documentation to complete and submit your application.
