Oklahoma City Community College's Cooperative Alliance Programs can give students an edge when beginning a college career, completing an Associate of Applied Science degree, Certificate of Mastery as well as accumulating college credit for job enhancement purposes.
OCCC and four area technology centers, Francis Tuttle, Metro Tech, Mid America and Moore Norman, have created partnerships to allow students, high school and adult, in cooperatively offered degree programs earn college credit towards an Associates of Applied Science degree while attending the Technology Center.
This partnership offers students an opportunity to reduce the time it takes to complete a degree giving the student an educational advantage that employers are looking for in today's competitive world.
How does it work and how much does it cost?
High School Student:
You have already made a very important decision that will affect the rest of your life! You have chosen to attend an Oklahoma Technology Center. Oklahoma's Technology Centers have the reputation as being some of the best technology centers in the nation and you no doubt will receive valuable skills and education that will benefit you in your future.
One of the benefits that you may not be aware of is the option to receive college credit for cooperatively offered programs that are offered for college credit. College credit is available through Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) for the following programs offered at area technology center partners: (not all technology centers offer all programs listed)
|Administrative Office Technology||Enterprise Communication System|
|Child Development||Health Technology|
|Computer Aided Design||Internet Technologies|
|Aviation Maintenance Technology||Manufacturing Technology|
|Database Management||Networking Technology|
If you are in any of the above programs, you may be eligible to receive college credit for some of your coursework before you graduate from high school. Students who take advantage of this opportunity will be admitted and enrolled in college credit courses at OCCC. All credit obtained will be applied to your official college transcript. This credit will appear with as the final grade received in the course on an official Oklahoma City Community College. (Example, A, B, C, D, or F).
A nominal administrative fee of $8.00 per credit hour is assessed to the student at the time of enrollment.
Adult students have the opportunity to earn college credit while completing a program of study or courses at the Technology Centers. When the student enrolls at the Technology Center, they have the option to co-enroll with OCCC and earn college credit that can help complete an Associate of Applied Science degree program. College credit will appear on an OCCC official transcript.
Once co-enrolled in a cooperatively offered degree program, students are eligible to receive an OCCC college ID, use the full range of recreational faculties, attend student productions and gain access to the student educational labs and library located on the campus of Oklahoma City Community College.
