Supervisor - Tonya Kymes has been a teacher of composition for eight years. Her career started as a high school English teacher, and after earning a Masters in Rhetoric and Composition, she began teaching on the college level. Mentoring the Communications Lab and World Languages Center combines her love and appreciation for both the study of writing and other languages/cultures. She hopes every student at OCCC uses the Communications Lab for assistance in reading and writing, and that students will gain an understanding of a different culture in our language center. Her interests include Coptic readings/translations, Harleys, and teaching writing.

Lab Assistant - Brandon Isaak has been a part of the Comm Lab staff since May of 2007. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2004 with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. Afterwards, he found himself working at a deli and playing in an indie rock band. Music is still very much a part of his life as a songwriter, but he is also interested in: painting, writing fiction, recycling, scooters, bocce ball, meditation, juggling, and activism. Brandon supports the students in Advocates of Peace and invites everyone to take advantage of the little green recycling bins on campus.

Lydia Rucker began as a tutor in the Communications Lab in August of 2007 and entered the position of Communications Lab Assistant on November 14, 2007. Lydia began her freshman year at Oklahoma Baptist University, and she then transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she pursued a degree in Theatre Arts with a minor in Communications. After three years of college she took time off to marry and start a family. Unsure of what she wanted to do with her life, she attended and graduated from the Oklahoma School of Photography and then received her certification from the Oklahoma Board of Cosmetology. She ran a home photography business for five years and then returned to college to finish her degree; she plans to attend Oklahoma University College of Liberal Studies. Lydia is the proud mother of two gorgeous children-- one girl and one boy. She enjoys singing, writing, watching movies, playing the piano and spending time with her husband.

Nick Webb - Communications Lab Assistant - Nick graduated from Oklahoma State University in May of 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Broadcasting with a focus in broadcasting and film. Upon graduation, he pursued a career in radio broadcasting only to find himself working for Oklahoma City Community College in Employment Services in the Fall of 2006. Nick has been a Communications Lab Assistant since September of 2007. Nick is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Mass Communications Management at the University of Oklahoma. Nick likes helping students online through ECHO and maintaining the Communications Lab MySpace page. Nick also enjoys exercising, video games, and supporting Brandon's strange endeavors.

Rebecca Weber, a lab assistant, graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University (B.A.) with a major in English Education. She has a background in literature and especially enjoys American Literature. Her background in English allows her to analyze literary themes and ideas. She finds working with students fun and rewarding. In her spare time she likes to read fiction, and spend time with friends. Her favorite author is Mark Twain.
