AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY
Prerequisites: ENGL 0203, adequate placement score, or by meeting determined placement measures

After analyzing African-American History from 1600 to the present, and surveying topics such as psychological identity, political reform, leadership, living patterns, and protest, the student will be able to identify prejudice in his or her own society, describe the current meaning of African American protest, and identify present day needs of the African American community.
