This is a course designed primarily for technical career programs. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to apply chemical concepts and techniques to solve technical problems in the areas of chemistry, environmental measurements and instrumentation. The student will demonstrate a basic knowledge of structure and bonding, the nature of solutions, states of matter, acid-base phenomena, thermodynamics, electrochemistry and elementary organic chemistry. Laboratory experience is an integral part of the course.As part of the coursework, you may have the potential of being, to some degree, exposed to hazardous material.
