Gwyn Williams and Arnold Goren
GWYN WILLIAMS works as Arts and Music Producer for the BBC in Wales. He was recently elected Associate of the Royal Academy of Music where he studied composition and performing as a post-graduate student. During this time he won the Federick Corder and John West prizes for composition, at the same time becoming a professor at the RAMÂ´s Saturday morning school. As a trumpeter, he played with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Ballet Orchestra, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orhcestra. Before joining the BBC in 1980, Gwyn Williams was appointed lecturer at the Department of Music of the University College of North Wales at Bangor. Recently his conducting engagements have specialized in choral concerts with the Liverpool Welsh Choral Union and Cantorion Menai as well as guest conducting in Britain and well as the United States. Currently Gwyn is visiting professor at Oklahoma City Community College.
DR. ARNOLD GOREN , Professor Emeritus and former Vice Chancellor of New York University, has been associated with New York University since 1946 and has been recognized for his numerous broadcasts and programs on radio and television. His work has also been widely published and include instructor's guides for the Independent Television Corporation. Among his many media credits, he has produced and participated in programs at the four major networks and their radio affiliates, as well as Radio Free Europe, WNYC Radio, WPIX-TV, WMCA Radio, WEVD Radio, WOR-AM, WRCA Radio, NBC's Live at Five, and served as moderator on a nationally syndicated program airing over 300 stations nationwide. In 1986, Dr. Goren was appointed to the New York Stock Exchange Panel of Arbitrators and has since also been appointed as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the National Arbitration Panel. In addition, Dr. Goren has served as a consultant to numerous organizations such as the National Science Foundation, Exxon Educational Foundation, Abraham and Strauss Scholarship Program, Manufacturers Hanover Bank, Chemical Bank, Columbia Teachers College, Loyola College, Florida Atlantic University, Fordham University, Norfolk State College, Bronx Community College and Manhattan Community College from whom he received an Award for Outstanding Service. Among his many honors and awards, he has served as President of the City Club of New York, received three honorary doctorates, an Award for excellence in educational journalism.
