 DNA Learning Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory has terrific interactive exercises using concepts and techniques of biotechnology. Site is http://www.dnalc.org. One topic under "Resources" page is DNA from the beginning, that takes user from basics of inheritance through methods of DNA analysis. Its "Biology Animation Library" includes the topics: PCR, Southern Blotting, Cycle Sequencing, DNA Detectives, and Three Polymorphisms. You may need to download software to view some of the resources at this site. Your Genes Your Health section covers specific genetic disorders like sickle cell anemia, Huntington's disease, and others. Another new offering is DNA interactive, also available at http://www.dnai.org. This huge site contains a timeline, beautiful animations, narratives by famous DNA scientists, and interactive practices on all the major topics of DNA science.
