Many activities are provided for students and their families throughout the year. These activities and events provide a great way for students to meet one another, learn about other cultures and participate in volunteer related activities. Our activity calendar ranges from our annual Family Halloween Carnival to various community service activities and from lunch time performers to nighttime coffee houses. For more information about upcoming activities view the calendar of events on the College website or contact the Office of Student Life at 682-7523.
The Aquatic Center was built in 1989 and served initially as the outdoor venue for all aquatic competitions during the 1989 U.S. Olympic Festival. In 1991, the College completed construction of the Health Technologies Center which included enclosing the Aquatic Center.
Recently awarded the 2002 National Recreation and Parks Association Award of Excellence, the OCCC Aquatic Center is regarded as one of the top facilities of its kind in the nation. The competitive pool is 50 meters long and 25 meters wide. A four-foot wide, movable bulkhead provides the flexibility to accommodate a 25-yard short course swim meet or a 50-meter long course meet. The pool also features a side ramp that provides access to disabled or wheelchair-bound individuals.
