Center for Global Excellence in International Business Announces Workshop at OCCC, 2008

Dr. Neal Goodman

The Center for International Business at OCCC announces Dr. Neal Goodman, the co-founder and president of Global Dynamics, Inc., is offering a free workshop for local businesses on April 16.

Dr. Goodman is an internationally recognized authority in international human resource management and organizational development. He designs international training programs for the corporate training departments of multinational corporations and international organizations.

Dr. Goodman has assisted clients from a wide spectrum of the global economy. A small sampling of clients includes: AT&T, Johnson and Johnson, Citi, G.E., Acxiom, BD, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lucent Technologies, Samsung, BOC, Bechtel Corp, The N.B.A., Fujitsu, DaimlerChrysler, Monsanto, Philips, Sun Microsystems, Genentech, Reynolds Metals, Hyundai, Volvo, ConocoPhillips, HP, and The World Bank.

Goodmans workshop titled; Applying Cultural Intelligence is designed to:

  • Provide a Cross Cultural program which helps business leaders to learn how to leverage the cultural diversity and to leverage opportunities worldwide.
  • Examine challenges, case studies, and best practices which promote the use of new skills and trust.
  • Enhance the participants' Cultural Intelligence Skills by providing a framework for analyzing and understanding critical cultural differences.
  • Provide "tips" for effective use of electronic communications such as email, conference calls, web meetings and social networking.
  • Provide the participants with the opportunity to develop individual action plans on how to apply the new cultural knowledge to their business needs.

This is the third in a series of workshops and lectures in which costs are covered by the Center for International Business at OCCC.

These speakers help bridge the gap between Oklahoma and the rest of the world when it comes to competing on a global stage, said OCCC Division of Business Department Chair, Gary Tucker. The business community will be able to develop and plan opportunities with those half a world away, as well as increasing ties with those right here.

Check-in for Dr. Goodmans workshop begins at 8:00 a.m. on April 16, in the OCCC Library with the workshop scheduled from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Individual registration or corporate tables (for eight) are available by calling the center at (405) 682-7870 or online at www.occc.edu/cib/
