Joined by their friends and family, around 300 OCCC graduates walked across the stage at the Cox Convention Center Friday, May 9.
The evening began with a prelude from the OCCC Jazz Band and was highlighted with a commencement address from Bill Burgess, the Chairman of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
Burgess stressed the importance of higher education and how the changing demands of the job market, especially due to technology, requires educated workers.
Close to 1200 OCCC students earned degrees or certificates during the 2007-2008 school year, the majority in business and nursing.
