Oklahoma City Community College will again be offering an Art Appreciation class at the Oklahoma Museum of Art from March 27-May15. The class meets on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm.
This is a very unique cultural learning opportunity that allows students to gain a basic understanding of visual arts in a non-credit survey course. Participants will discuss the nature and evaluation of art, along with a chronological study of world art in its cultural setting from the classical to the contemporary.
Highlights include evaluation of the two and three dimensional works of art in the permanent collection and special exhibition galleries of the Museum. The class also examines the formal elements of design as well as the processes and tools involved in the creation of art. Special activities include behind the scenes tours and gallery talks with Museum curators.
