OCCC continues to follow market trends and will again be offering Pharmacy Technician I: Basic Prescriptions & Dispensing. As chain drug stores continue to appear on virtually every corner across the nation, so does the need for pharmacy technicians to fill jobs in the new stores.
"The course has been designed to give the students a well-rounded view of the pharmaceutical industry," said Doralicia Sandoval, consultant for Corporate Learning. "Curriculum for this course includes instruction in state regulations, insurance restrictions, mathematics relating to job performance, applicable law and computerized pharmacy systems."
The class, being taught by Jeff Yanchick, a licensed pharmacist and member of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association, will be held September 25 through November 15, 2007 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8pm at the OCCC campus library.
Prerequisites for the class include a high school diploma or GED and basic math skills. Cost for the course is $325.00 which includes all instruction and course materials.
