Fulbright scholar to present public lecture at OCCC

Fulbright Scholar Dr. Ilhan Uzgel will present a public lecture titled “Turkey: the Crossroads Country on the Verge of the Twenty-First Century” at Oklahoma City Community College February 13 at 2:30 p.m. in College Union Rooms 1 and 2.

Uzgel is an associate professor of Political Science and Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations at Ankara University in Turkey. His presentation will cover Turkey’s political and social history as well as an overview of relations between the United States and Turkey.

Sponsored by OCCC’s Division of Social Sciences and the Office of Student Life, the lecture will be preceded by a public reception in the Oklahoma Room from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.

Uzgel will also make presentations in a variety of OCCC Political Science and Sociology classes February 12 and 13.
