President Todd Honored With Lifetime Achievement

Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two year colleges, selected former OCCC president Dr. Robert Todd to posthumously receive the prestigious Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award.

Awardees include retiring college presidents, campus executive officers and community college directors. Phi Theta Kappa members select a winner based on that persons support of the honor society over many years.

Dr. Todd was honored at an annual convention at the Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn on Friday April 13, 2007. Dr. Todd's friends, family and OCCC colleagues were in attendence when the award was given in front of an audience of about 4,000.

Inlcuded in the crowd was Phi Theta Kappa member and OCCC professor, Dr. Richard Rouillard, who nominated Todd.

"Dr. Todd was a tireless promoter of community colleges," Rouillard said. "He truly spent his entire life focusing on the opportunity for education of our students. It is appropriate for him to be honored with this award."

Todd served as president of Oklahoma City Community College from 1995 until his death in 2005.
