Cyber Security OCCC Style

In an age of computers, communication and identity theft, OCCC is going high-tech to help students, employees and the community protect themselves and investigate in the cyber-world.

OCCC Corporate Learning is proud to sponsor an Introduction to cyber security workshop. This workshop gives attendees basic knowledge of cyber security and what it means to protect their networks.

"We have several hands-on activities planned to give guests an inside look at cyber-security," says John Claybon, Corporate Learning Consultant at OCCC. "We hope to educate attendees about the cyber-risk that we all experience everyday in our workplace as well as in our private lives. By applying the information obtained through this course, we may better have a sense of how to protect our businesses and ourselves."

Topics for this one-of-a-kind course will include desktop, network, Internet and personal security, as well as how to investigate hackers and find out who may be accessing your network.

The course will be held on April 16th, 2007 from 1pm to 5pm. Professor of Computer Science and Program Coordinator of Cyber Security, Brett Weber, will be conducting the workshop at the Keith Leftwich Library room 401 on OCCC Main Campus, located at 7777 South May Ave. Cost of course is $49 and includes all coursework and supplies.
