3-D and virtual reality could soon be a reality at Oklahoma City Community College after a series of meetings with a California company. Eon Reality Inc., based in Irvine, Calif. is a leader in using 3-D and virtual reality technology. The company is working with OCCC to offer 3-D animation training and classes.
Dr. Felix Aquino, Vice President for Academic Affairs at OCCC toured the company's headquarters. "While this deal is very much in its infancy, OCCC continues to offer cutting-edge training for tomorrow's workforce. This would be a great opportunity to stay on top of the technology," Aquino said.
The deal would give OCCC access to one-of-a-kind 3-D software developed for corporate sales and business training applications, but could be used in many training programs from architecture to nursing.
The 3-D and virtual reality system is also planned to be utilized by the computer gaming program launched at OCCC last year.
