Class Orientations

Librarians offer general orientation classes to familiarize students and faculty with the Library’s resources and services, and teach critical thinking skills necessary to find and filter information. Classes may focus on specific disciplines or tools related to particular assignments. Another method that works well is brief group instruction, followed immediately by the Library's Research Pathfinder, or other hands-on exercises.

Classes are usually scheduled for a single session; however faculty members often find that two class sessions result in better digestion and retention of the ideas.

To schedule a class or talk about goals for your class, call the Reference Desk, Ext. 7251.
