Special Admission Procedures:

The nursing program has selective admissions procedures due to the number of applicants for limited space available in each of the program's tracks. The program includes the traditional track as well as the career ladder pathway (for LPNs and Oklahoma licensed Paramedics) and the baccalaureate to associate degree nurse accelerated pathway. Information packets are available for each track by selecting the Prospective Student Information.

The traditional program admits students in both fall and spring semesters. Students admitted in the fall semester follow a day-time schedule for theory classes, and students admitted in the spring semester follow an evening schedule for theory classes. In both cases, students can anticipate some day assignments for campus laboratory and clinical experiences. Students are selected from eligible applicants who have been ranked according to preference points.
Prospective Student Information

The career ladder pathway admits students once annually for the fall semester. Career ladder pathway students have one theory day and one clinical day weekly but can anticipate other campus lab and special assignments on additional days during each semester. Students are selected from eligible applicants who have been ranked according to preference points.
Prospective Student Information

The baccalaureate to associate degree nurse accelerated pathway admits students once annually for the summer academic session. The courses are offered through one day a week in-class sessions with half of the theory (six contact hours) taught online. Clinical and campus laboratory experiences are scheduled for 12-24 hours weekly. Students are selected from eligible applicants who have been ranked according to highest cumulative grade point average through the baccalaureate degree. Graduate work can also be included in the cumulative grade point average.
Prospective Student Information

More specific information on the three program tracks can be found in the Prospective Student Information sections of this website as well as the College Catalogue. Application periods are published in the Class Schedules available online and in the College Catalog, under Academic Schedules. For application forms, contact the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
