Since 1972, Oklahoma City Community College has impacted the lives of thousands of students, businesses and community members. With our ever-increasing enrollment of 22,000 students per year, our diverse academic programs and class schedules, our nationally-recognized faculty and staff and our new and existing partnerships, we continue to create great educational opportunities for our students and our community. In fact, Oklahoma City Community College was recently ranked 6th in the nation as one of the fastest growing community colleges.
With a growing enrollment and exciting academic programs, there is an even greater need for charitable giving from the private sector. There are many options available for individuals, corporations and foundations who wish to make an investment in the Foundation and the College.
This fund assists students with tuition, books and other fees associated with attending an academic institution.
Statistics indicate that of the ninth graders that started high school in the Oklahoma City Public Schools in 2001, only 49% graduated four years later. OKC-GO! was created to help raise that percentage. Through participation in the program, high school graduates of the Oklahoma City Public Schools can attend Oklahoma City Community College tuition-free for their first year out of high school. In addition, they receive financial assistance from the Foundation for books and fees.
OCCC President Paul Sechrist established an endowed scholarship fund through the Oklahoma City Community College Foundation in honor of his parents, Bill and Carol Sechrist, supporting the education of OCCC students. An annual scholarship will be awarded celebrating President Sechrist's parents and their support of education.
The Oklahoma City Community College Foundation has established the Robert P. Todd Leadership Scholarship in memory of President Todd who passed away in December 2005.
Lloyd and Marge Bartlett spent their lives in service to others through their community, church and civic organizations. They literally touched the lives of thousands through their caring attitudes and acts. One of their greatest dreams was for Oklahoma City Community College to serve the community and make a difference in the lives of many students. The Memorial Endowment will support annual scholarships to business students as well as support a lectureship series that will include business seminars, guest lectureships and expanded curriculum offerings.
The mission of the Academic Division of Business Fund is to provide students and faculty the physical facilities, educational programs and global learning opportunities to meet present and anticipated educational needs in Oklahoma.
With technology for education and enhanced learning changing and improving at an increasing rate, it is imperative that Oklahoma City Community College update and add to its existing technology through interactive labs and media classrooms.
Endowments provide income for the future. Investing in the Community College's General Endowment will ensure that students are able to receive financial support from the Foundation for years to come.
There are always projects and scholarships that need additional funding. Making your gift unrestricted will allow the Foundation to apply it to the area of greatest need.
