The students of Oklahoma City Community College are our focus. And with 22,000 enrolled in classes, the need for support is evident.
Not only are our students working toward a better future for themselves with a college degree, but they also give back to the community.
In addition to many other projects, students assisted with Habitat for Humanity, donated books to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Reach Out and Read Program and offered bilingual assistance and tutoring at local elementary schools. In all, student organizations planned nearly 200 social activities, educational programs and community service projects this past year with a total of 17,600 participants.
If students can make that kind of commitment to our community, will you consider that kind of commitment to our students?
You may wish to honor someone with a gift that will create a scholarship named for them that will benefit students for many years to come. If this interests you, please contact us.
Some students currently in the Oklahoma City Public School District need an incentive to stay in high school and continue on to higher education to obtain their career goals. To learn more on OKC-GO!
You can make an honorary or memorial gift in the name of someone special to you. This could be your student, your favorite professor, a loved Girl Scout Leader or anyone you want to honor with a donation to the Foundation.
If you do make your gift in the name of someone, let us know whom you wish to honor or memorialize. We'll send you a thank you letter with tax-deductibility information and we'll notify the family of your gift.
Honorary or Memorial Gifts go to the general fund and gifts are listed in the list of contributors in the Foundation Newsletter.
OCCC President Paul Sechrist established an endowed scholarship fund through the Oklahoma City Community College Foundation in honor of his parents, Bill and Carol Sechrist, supporting the education of OCCC students. An annual scholarship will be awarded celebrating President Sechrist's parents and their support of education.
The Oklahoma City Community College Foundation has established the Robert P. Todd Leadership Scholarship in memory of President Todd who passed away in December 2005.
Lloyd and Marge Bartlett spent their lives in service to others through their community, church and civic organizations. They literally touched the lives of thousands through their caring attitudes and acts. One of their greatest dreams was for Oklahoma City Community College to serve the community and make a difference in students' lives. A special endowment has been set up in their name at the Oklahoma City Community College Foundation.
