CULTURAL ARTS SERIES 2005 - 2006 PROGRAMMING

Following is the programming for the 2005 - 2006 Cultural Arts Series. We hope that you will have the opportunity to work some of these performances into the context of one or more of your classes. In addition, we will be happy to work with you to determine if we can arrange for a special guest lecture or workshop for your students by one or more of the artists being presented. We may also be able to arrange for special daytime performances for groups of 200 or more. Please call us at 682-7579 so that we can assist you in making the most from having these artists at the College.

FALL 2005 Zumbamba, Flamenco Troupe Their energetic dancing and colorful costumes will transport you to another world. Performance - Tuesday, September 13, 2005, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Educational Presentation - Wednesday, September 14, 2005, 12:00 noon, Oklahoma City Community College Union, Main Dining Area. The educational presentation is free and open to the public. Brad Richter, Guitarist Returns to our series with his enchanting music from the deserts of Tucson. Performance - (SPECIAL NIGHT), Thursday, September 29, 2005, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Guitar Workshop - Wednesday, September 28, 2005, 10:30 a.m., Oklahoma City Community College Arts and Humanities Building, Room 1F5. The guitar workshop is free and open to the public. Fourth Avenue, Vocal Ensemble These four young men form a unique vocal sound nicknamed "a band without instruments." Performance - Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Lecture / Demonstration - The History of Vocal Music - Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 10:00 a.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. The Lecture / Demonstration is free and open to the public. Ahn Trio The Ahn Trio (piano, violin, and cello) will captivate you with their glorious music! Performance - Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Lecture / Demonstration - Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 11:00 a.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. The Lecture / Demonstration is free and open to the public. SPRING 2006 Tom Tiratto and Orchestra Join Tom Tiratto and his 14-piece orchestra for A Tribute to Frank Sinatra. Performance - Tuesday, January 31, 2006, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Lecture - Tom Tiratto; The Early Years. Tuesday, January 31, 2006, 1:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Arts and Humanities Building, Room 1C5. The Lecture is free and open to the public. So Percussion So combines musical, theatrical, and artistic elements in this entertaining performance. Performance - Tuesday, February 21, 2006, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Lecture - Drumming from Around the World. Tuesday, February 21, 2006, 10:00 a.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. The Lecture/Demonstration is free and open to the public. Valery Kuleshov, Pianist This Van Cliburn silver medalist will astound you with his exquisite artistry. Performance - Tuesday, March 7, 2006, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Lecture/Demonstration - The Horowitz Transcriptions, Tuesday, March 7, 2006, 11:00 a.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. The Lecture/Demonstration is free and open to the public. Sonos Handbell Ensemble This professional handbell ensemble's technique and interpretation will leave you in amazement. Performance - Tuesday, April 4, 2006, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre. Handbell Workshop - Monday, April 3, 2006, 7:00 p.m., Oklahoma City Community College Theatre.
