OKLAHOMA SCHOOLS CELEBRATE DNA DAY, APRIL 25, 2008
Teachers & Students: two local DNA Day 2008 activities for you:
1. Join us at OCCC for a DNA Day Symposium, featuring
panels of speakers on topics to include clinical trials, stem cells, biomedical
careers, newborn screening, genetic diversity and more. After lunch, the featured presentation: Ferocious
Beauty: Genome, a multimedia dance
performance from the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange of
Instructions for buses - come to parking lot D, drop off people at entry 6, and buses park in back of lot D where it says "bus parking" - the link to campus map is http://www.occc.edu/Maps/Outside-Map.pdf for outside map and for inside map http://www.occc.edu/Maps/MB-Map.pdf focus on part of map that says "college union" and you will see entry 6 and the theater right near it.

2. Celebrate at your site: students teaching students or parents about DNA. Materials will be supplied by OCCC grant program. Obtain the materials for a DNA extraction or DNA Origami by using our online ordering form.
3. The National Human Genome Research Institute at NIH will feature DNA Day webcasts and a Chatroom - check it out.

4. Local DNA Day ESSAY contest: your students may submit their essay addressing the national contest questions to our local contest: send to Charlotte Mulvihill no later than March 17, 2008.
