Gifts to the campaign will also serve as an investment in the community, providing the only performing arts venue between downtown Oklahoma City and Norman.

Oklahoma City Community College is playing an increasingly vital role in the educational and cultural life of Central Oklahoma.

The vitality of the College is apparent on the bustling campus where in the fall of 2008, the Visual and Performing Arts Center was completed.

Now, Oklahoma City Community College seeks to move to the next level in serving its students and community with the construction of the 1,000-seat theater that will complete the Visual and Performing Arts Center. Cost of this facility is $16 million. First, the students stepped up passing a resolution, obligating themselves with fees that would make $8 million in bond funding possible covering half the estimated cost. Lead gifts of $1 million from the Sarkeys Foundation and $500,000 from the Inasmuch Foundation; along with College capital resources and major gifts from individuals and companies sets the stage, so- to-speak, as we work to raise the balance of the funds.

The final piece needed is $4.6 million. To raise this, OCCC has launched the Performing Arts Theater Campaign. Contributors to this campaign will be investing in opportunities for students-those studying the arts and those for whom the arts are part of a well-rounded education.
