INFORMATION ON APPLYING TO TAKE THE GED EXAM

NOTICE: The current GED test will be closed out at the end of 2013, a new revised GED will be implemented as of January 1st, 2014. Individuals taking the GED before December 31st, 2013 must pass all sections of the GED before January 1st, 2014 or they will be required to take the entire GED test again including any sections previously passed.
Registration: You can schedule the electronic GED at www.GEDcomputer.com The initial testing fee will be $140.00. Retest fees will be $28.00 per section. If you miss the test date, the fee will be charged again when you reschedule.
You will need a government-issued, photo ID. If you are 16 or 17, you will need an additional form, called the RELEASE FORM FOR 16 AND 17 YEARS OLDS. It must be signed by an administrator from the school district in which you live and by a parent and will have to be approved at the OCCC Assessment Center prior to registering for the test. It informs the State that you are not enrolled in the public school system. The High School will notarize the form.
Passing Scores for Current GED
Passing requires a total score of 2250 and a minimum score of at least 410 on each subtest to pass the GED.
Passing Scores for 2014 GED
The new test will be on an entirely new scale and will have a passing score of 150 on each test module. Therefore, test-takers will need to reach a score of at least 150 on each module and a total score of 600 across the four-module battery in order to receive their GED® test credential.
The OCCC Testing and Assessment Center will be closed for all testing except academic finals the week of December 9th-14th and will close for winter break from December 20th-January 1st.
